University Games 2009


The New Zealand University Games has standing history in New Zealand sport for over 100 years. This years Uni Games will be held during the Easter break from 14 - 17 April, in Taranaki and play host to approximately 2,500 students competing in 31 different sports. The Victoria University Badminton Club has a strong presence in the Uni Games, having podium finishes each year in both the Men's and Women's team events.

Uni Games FAQ:


How does it work?

The University Games are a 3-day competition, which includes playing at Trials beforehand. The Trials determine the best players to represent Vic Uni at the Games. If you succeed in playing for the team, then you will receive further information from VUWSA, who will organize transport and accomodation for you. At Uni Games, you will play in a team with 4-5 players, separated into men's and women's. There will be four singles and two doubles matches each tie.

Who can play ?

Eligibility is open to all VUW students (full and part time)

When do the trials start ?

The Trials will commence on March 16th.

What does it cost ?

Costs are to be confirmed, but may range between $400 to $500, inclusive of registration, Team Vic hoodie, transport and accomodation.

How do I sign up for Trials?

To sign up for trials, please download and complete this form and hand it back to one of our executives during club time. Registration closes on 14th March at 2:00 pm.
